Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato is a very popular dish in Portugal and it is easy to find all around the country. The recipe is claimed to be an invention of a Portuguese poet, Bulhao Pato, in the 19th century. The main ingredient of the Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato is clams. Clams are simmered for a little time in some water with garlic, coriander, olive oil, white wine, salt and pepper. When the clams are ready they are seasoned with some lemon juice and lemon slices. Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato is mostly served as an aperitif.
