Ameijoas em Salsa Verde or clams in green sauce is a very popular dish in Portugal. The recipe is very simple and easy to prepare. The ingredients of the Ameijoas em Salsa Verde are clams, onions, garlic, oil, white wine, salt, pepper and parsley. The clams are simmered a little with all these ingredients and served hot. There are also, some variations of the recipe. Sometimes flour, cornstarch, milk, fish broth and/or other ingredients can be added to the clams. The Ameijoas em Salsa Verde can be served as a main course or as a side dish with some rice or green peas.
