Ardei prajiti cu sos de rosii (fried peppers with tomato sauce) is a well known appetizer in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

The dish is easy to prepare. It is made with peppers, tomatoes and onions. Peppers (red or green) are fried in oil until they get soft and are just golden-brown. Cooked peppers are usually peeled and placed on a plate; tomato sauce is added then. The sauce is prepared from fried grated tomatoes and onions. This dish is typically served cold, but sometimes warm as well.
