Ardennes pate
Ardennes pate is a very popular aperitif in Europe and especially in Brussels. It is very delicious and nourishing. The Ardennes pate is made of pork fillet, belly pork, minced veal and chicken livers mixed and cooked with water, brandy, thyme, green peppercorns, black pepper and streaky bacon. The mixture is cooked in an oven for about an hour and a half. The Ardennes pate is also garnished with thyme sprigs and lemon slices. The pate is served cold and with toasts as aperitif or sometimes as side dish.
