Another great Scottish traditional dish is Beef in Claret. The Scottish traditional dishes have some French ingredients mixed in as a result of past relations between Scotland and France. The main ingredients of the Beef in Claret are beef and mushrooms. First the beef is fried with some onions, bacon and mushrooms till brown. Then beef is cut in pieces and baked with Claret, garlic, some flour and herbs (parsley, bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, savory and others). When beef is almost ready the mushrooms mixture is added to the dish. Beef in Claret is served hot and seasoned with fresh parsley. Usually it goes with mushed or boiled potatoes.
