Poppy Seed and Walnut Roll are traditional Hungarian Christmas cake. The sourdough is made with leaf-lard or butter. The rolls are covered with egg yolks and left over night in cold place so it is rising slowly which gives the texture, next morning are covered with egg white to give a shiny surface.
