Boterkoek is a tasty Dutch cake, also called by many - butter biscuits. It is rather easy to figure out the main ingredient of this dessert, as it derives from the simple name of it, and namely ‘boter’ meaning butter. There is a quite large number of variations regarding the recipe, most of them containing the following ingredients: butter (which can be replaced with margarine, or make a half-and-half combination), sugar, flour and eggs.
In order to obtain the desired round shape, boterkoek is usually cooked in a special round tin. This dish is quite easy to prepare, it being extremely tasty when served with tea or coffee.
