Brune Kartofler

Brune Kartofler or caramelized browned potatoes are a Danish specialty, normally eaten on Christmas Eve along with roast pork, duck or goose, white potatoes and red cabbage or Danish meatballs. The potatoes acquire a specific brown color because after being boiled they are caramelized with sugar and butter. The taste of the potatoes is sweet on the surface and salty inside. The dish has a mouthwatering flavour. They make a perfect Christmas side dish and are perfect with a glass of red wine.
