Brunsviger is a traditional Danish cake that has a specific soft dough and thick brown sugar topping. The batter for the cake consists of milk, yeast, butter, eggs, brown sugar and wheat flour. Sometimes raisins and baker's angel flake coconut are added to the cake. It can be served either warm or cold, along with a cup of coffee or tea. Brunsviger has a sweet taste and an appetizing flavour of milk and fried sugar. Its crust has a brown colour, with small hollows filled with brown sugar.
