Cafe amb llet06.jpg

Cafe amb llet is the Catalan version for "coffee with milk". It represents a standard breakfast drink throughout Barcelona, usually accompanied by some sort of cake or a doughnut. It contains about 50% coffee, which is rather strong and somewhat bitter, and 50% hot milk. Sugar or sweetener are added according to taste. A big size cup of Cafe amb llet is known as "grande" or "doble", while a smaller cup is called "en got" or "en vaso".

The beverage is also extremely common in Spain, where it is known as Café con leche and in many Latin American countries and communities around the world.
