Carac is a Swiss dessert cookie consisting of a pie crust filled with chocolate, covered with green icing and which has various sizes. This pastry is usually popular in the French part of Switzerland; accordingly, it is supposed to have the origins in France. Although, the cake has a green color icing which might seem a bit scary for a sweet treat, the taste and flavor of it is very rich, as it has a good chocolate filling that rises over the appearance. The green topping has no special aroma, as it contains food coloring supplements that present no danger for one’s health. The Carac cakes are especially popular with children, who always love unusually tasty things, and can be found in supermarkets, specialized pastry shops and street stalls.
