Cascos de Guayaba

Cascos de Guayaba or Guava Shells are some of the most popular Latin America and Spain dishes. They are served in the thick sweet syrup. The main ingredients are fresh guavas, sugar, water and lime juice. The boiled guavas have an intense reddish orange colour, are soft and have a sweet, characteristic aroma of guava fruit. This dessert is usually served with delicious white cheese, cream cheese or creme fraiche on the side. Cascos de guayaba can also be eaten on their own or with crackers.
