Croquete de Carne

Croquete de Carne is a Brazilian style meat croquette widely consumed throughout Brazil, and served almost in every restaurant of Rio de Janeiro. The common ingredients for this Brazilian delicacy are: minced meat, potatoes, milk, Parmesan cheese, eggs, bread crumbs, salt and pepper added to taste. The ingredients are available at local supermarkets and grocery shops, and the way of preparation is so easy, that everybody can cook it at home and taste a piece of Brazil. The potatoes are boiled, mashed, and added to cooked minced meat. Then milk, egg, and grated cheese are added and seasoned with salt and pepper. Finally the mixture is shaped into croquettes, dipped into beaten egg, coated with bread crumbs and fried in hot oil, drained of excess oil and served immediately. Croquete de Carne is perfect both on its own and as an accompaniment.
