Domates Çorbası or Tomato Soup is one of the most common Turkish soups served both in restaurants and most households. The soup is rustic in presentation, easy to make, very nutritious and delicious in taste. The traditional recipe includes broth, milk, tomatoes, onion, tomato paste, parsley, butter, oil, hard cheese, flour, dried mint or thyme. Some other variations of the soup are "kolay domates çorbası" (Simple tomato soup), cooked without onion, spices, and broth; or "kremalı domates çorbası" (Cream tomato soup) made with egg yellows and cream instead of milk. The soup is very attractive, has bright red colour and goes best as a first course with meat, grilled or roasted chicken or vegetables.
