Dulce de batata is a delicious sweet potato paste that is considered to be one of the most favorite desserts in Argentina, as well as in Paraguay and Uruguay.

Dulce de batata is made of sweet potato puree. It is a sweet jelly, which resembles a marmalade because of its hard texture. The Argentinian recipe for Dulce de batata calls for the use of cinnamon and vanilla, which give the dish a special aroma and a delicious taste. Dulce de batata is commonly eaten with cheese.

When sold commercially, it is often found canned in flat and round metal cans. In some of the commercial versions of the food, chocolate is added to it.
