Enzian schnaps is a spirit "born" in the Alps, which has a rather bitter taste and a unique blend of aromatic smells. The liquor is known for its various healing properties, it can help fight stomach problems, especially digestion ones.

Contrary to popular belief, this drink is made not from the blue Gentian flower, but from the root of a much larger and more fertile Yellow Gentian. There are also Purple Gentian roots, but they would rather be used in small quantities. The harvesting of wild grown roots is strongly regulated, therefore, are domestically cultivated in order to be used for the production of this schnapps. The minimum alcohol content of the final beverage is 37.5 % by volume; it is a rather strong drink that should be consumed in small quantities.
