Fagioli all'uccelletto with sausages and plum tomatoes

Fagioli all'uccelletto represents a national Florentine dish, originating in Siena, Tuscany. The classic recipe suggests the following ingredients: boiled Canellini or any other white beans, fresh or canned plum tomatoes, minced garlic cloves, sage leaves, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. All the ingredients are simmered together in a crock pot. The fagioli all'uccelletto can be served either hot or cold. They are usually accompanied by sausages, pork liver, braised or grilled meat dishes.
