Fettunta, widely known as the Tuscan bruschetta is one of the most representative national appetizers, despite the easiness of the receipt. The secret of the present dish is not in the quantity of its ingredients, but in their quality. Thick slices of Italian country style bread are broiled over an open fire or grilled in the oven on both sides until they obtain a pleasant golden colour. Immediately the bread has to be brushed with a garlic clove, sprinkled with salt and drizzled with high quality extra virgin olive oil. The best way to savour the fettuntas is while they are still hot.
