Firifiri or Firi firi is a kind of Tahitian styled doughnut. The dessert is usually served with tea or coffee on Sundays. Even though the firi firis may have diverse forms, the most common are the 8 shaped ones. The dought for the present dessert is made of flour, dry yeast, coconut milk and sugar. The firifiris are deep fryed in hot oil until they obtain a golden colour. When ready, the sweets are drained on paper towels. While still hot, the doughnuts are introduced in a bag with powdered sugar and shaked so they obtain an even sweet cover.
