Fiskesuppe represents a creamy kind of soup which represents the Norwegian cooking culture. Depending on the region, it can be prepared in different ways and using different products, but the main ingredient still remains the fish, usually cod, salmon or catfish. The soup also contains a multitude of different vegetables (carrots, potatoes, onions), as well as white wine, milk and aromatic condiments. The fiskesuppe soup is known to be the favourite dish of the fishermen who work in cold weather.
