Fried sauce noodles (Zha jiang mian, 炸酱面)
From Mycitycuisine.org
Zha Jiang Mian is wheat noodles topped with diced fresh vegetables and a thick mixture of ground pork stir-fried, and with yellow soybean paste or sweet bean sauce. The noodles are usually hand rolled and sometimes seafood is used instead of ground pork. This dish is a everyday food commonly found in all types of restaurants, as well as in many homes around the city.
Zha Jiang Mian resembles Italian spaghetti in some ways, although the taste of the two are quite different. Zha Jiang Mian can taste a little spicy or sweet, depending on the sauce used.
