Reçel, literally translated as "jam", is an inevitable part of Turkish breakfast, but is also served at any time of the day, and used alongside different types of Turkish desserts: pies, cookies, cakes, ice-cream. Gül Reçeli is one of the most delicious and fragrant jams, as it is prepared from rose petals. Rose jam is made only from organically grown roses. The other ingredients used for this jam preparation are sugar, water and lemon juice. First, rose petals are boiled until they have assumed a white colour, then sugar is added and boiled until it thickens. Lemon juice dissolved in water is added to the syrup in the end of the preparation. When the jam has completely cooled down, it is put in jars, and served when desired.
