Garnalenkroketten
Garnalenkroketten are Dutch shrimp croquettes. As the name suggests, the dish is made with grey shrimps which are very common in the North Sea.
Garnalenkroketten are small fried food rolls containing grey shrimps (Hollandse garnalen), finelly chopped shallot amd covered with bread crumbs. The roux is made with butter, flour, milk, shrimp broth, eggs, pepper. The croquette is usually shaped into a cylinder or disk, and then deep-fried for about 5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Garnalenkroketten is a popular dish in the Netherlands.
