Golonka is roasted pork knuckles/hocks, often cooked with vegetables. The ankle part of the pig is used for this dish.

Golonka is the traditional dish of Poland. There are several variations of how this dish may be done. It is tasty when served with sour cabbage, potatoes, rye bread, beer.

It is better to marinate the meat in advance in a mixture of pepper, salt, garlic and paprica. Golonka is baked a little, then it can be boiled in beer. It can be boiled first and then roasted with sour cabbage.
