Grzaniec or Grzane wino is translated from Polish as "spiced heated wine". It is commonly known in English as mulled wine. Grzaniec is a traditional Poland drink served during winter, especially around Christmas and Halloween.
This warming alcoholic beverage is usually made by mixing red wine with spices and other components such as cloves, cinnamon or honey, all being gently heated without boiling. This Polish drink is very similar to the Czech variant, especially in the southern regions.
There are many variations of mulled wine that are popular throughout Europe. The amazing, deep color of the drink highly motivates the guests to try and ask for more of this delicious beverage.
