The dressing is usually made of a combination of mayonnaise, heavy cream or Irish sour cream, malt vinegar, apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar, mustard, water, rosemary, tarragon, Irish blue cheese or Irish cheddar cheese, sugar or brawn sugar, salt and pepper. The salad itself is made of vegetables like lettuce, pickled beets, cucumber, tomatoes, celery, cabbage, red cabbage, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, spinach and others. Another essential ingredient of the Irish Pub Salad are hard-boiled eggs. Sometimes the dressing can be served separately.
