As a general, toast is bread that has been browned by exposure to radiant heat. Irish Toast though is prepared a bit differently, more similar to French toast. Before frying, the bread is dipped in eggs mixed with Irish cream liqueur. To this mixture also can be added Irish whiskey, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Then the bread is fried in butter. The Irish Toast is served hot with some butter, warm maple syrup and fresh fruits. It can be a great breakfast and goes well with some coffee or tea.
