This dish is prepared of veal or pork schnitzel and served with a burgundy-mushroom or a creamy-mushroom sauce. According to the tradition it is prepared without adding eggs, flour or bread crumbs. It's name is translated as "Hunter's schnitzel", not crumbed and very delicious. Jägerschnitzel may also refer to an eastern German variant made of Jagdwurst which originated in the former East Germany. There are added many condiments to it, such as garlic, mustard seed, capsicum, mace, and cardamom.
