Jamón con palmitos

Jamón con palmitos (palmitos wrapped in ham) is a very common appetizer dish in Argentina. It is prepared from the palm hearts mixed with olive oil, garlic powder and wrapped with thin ham slices. Jamón con palmitos are served garnished with sliced hard boiled eggs, olives and pickles. Another popular recipe variation consists of palm hearts being combined with cucumbers, chopped watercress, ketchup and mayonnaise. Slices of ham are then being spread with the palm heart mass and rolled up. Served on lettuce leaves and garnished with tomato wedges.
