Kibbeling is a typical Dutch appetizer, which once used to be a local delicacy. The secret of its marvelous taste is hidden in the fresh white fish, that is – cod.

This number one snack in Rotterdam includes such ingredients as fish marinade (which can be always substituted with a good seasoning), eggs, water or milk, flour, corn flour. When being cooked the cod is cut into bite-size chunks, it is marinated and then it is well coated in the batter. The coating is indeed important, because it gives the appetizer the crispy crust which makes it extremely attractive.

Kibbeling is usually served with mayonnaise or some delicious sauces.
