Kletskoppen, literally translated as smack head, is an old Dutch delicious treat. It is a crispy, sweet cookie with almond/peanut flavor. Visitors can find them in every bakery or supermarket in Holland, or served in restaurants and cafes with ice-cream. The ingredients commonly used to prepare this crunchy cookies are: finely chopped peanuts, brown sugar, salt, melted butter and flour. Occasionally, other ingredients such as ground cinnamon might be added. All the components are mixed well until a compact dough is obtained. Little balls are shaped and smacked thinly with the back of a spoon out. Cookies are baked for five to seven minutes until melted, very thin and golden brown. After being cooled Kletskoppen are ready to be served.
