Krautsalat mit Speck is a Bavarian specialty salad which is served as a side dish. It goes well with high calorie meat courses. The ingredients used to make this salad are cabbage, bacon, vinegar, olive or canola oil, mustard, salt and pepper. The crunchy properties of the cabbage nicely combine with the crispy bacon and the vinegar based dressing amplifies the specific taste and flavor of this dish. Preparation is very quick and simple, the cabbage is sliced and marinated in oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and mustard sauce, then garnished with roasted strips of bacon and sprinkled with freshly chopped parsley.
