Kulajda is a traditional Czech soup (bohemian soup with mushrooms), which consists of water, cream, spices, mushrooms, eggs, dill and mashed potatoes. Dill is served in many Czech courses, together with caraway seeds, parsley and thyme. The soup has a creamy texture and is famous for its density, white color and unique flavor. The basic ingredient of the soup are mushrooms, which give it a distinctive aroma.
There is no single recipe considered to be universal. There are many variants, which differ in spices and other components added to the soup. The soup is sometimes served as a main dish instead of a separate starter.
