Kuru Üzüm Hoşafı is a popular Turkish drink, widely consumed during the hot summer months. This is a light, refreshing drink traditionally made of raisins. Hoşaf is a Turkish word for Kompot and it is considered to originate in the Ottoman Empire. The preparation process is very simple, and those who want to try their traditional drink need only raisins, sugar and water. The raisins are carefully washed and soaked in water overnight. Then it is boiled together with sugar, chilled and served in deep bowls.
