Lesso Rifatto alla Toscana

Lesso, or more exactly Lesso Rifatto alla Toscana, as its name suggests, is a very common Tuscan dish. The main component of the course is the boiled meat, as a rule beef which remains after cooking Brodo and other similar dishes. It is simmered together with chopped onions, garlic cloves, bay leaves, chopped tomatoes (or tomato paste), extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. A small quantity of broth is also added. In some recipes, the onions are replaced with diced potatoes. The lesso is usually served with Tuscan bread slices.
