Lu Wei (魯味)
Lu wei (魯味) is a common Taiwanese street food that consists of an amalgam of vegetables and meat, boiled and served with spices. It is said that this dish is especially popular with local women, as it is less fatty and healthier. The customer is offered a huge variety of sticks with food form which he/she chooses, beginning with tofu, sausages, meat, vegetables, eggs, mushrooms, fish balls, chicken hearts, rice and pork blood cakes etc. All these ingredients are thoroughly boiled and tossed with different sauces: spicy, sweet, sour, all to the client's taste and wish. This is really comfort food, not expensive and always available at market stalls, at any time of day or night.
