Lys Frugtkage or White Fruitcake is a traditional Danish specialty consumed as dessert. It is known and baked not only in Denmark but also all over the world, especially in American cuisine. This cake contains such ingredients as butter, sugar, eggs, flour, white wine, dried apricots, dried figs, raisins, coconut meat, almonds and rum. It has a sweet fruity taste and a pleasant flavour of fruits, lemon, rum and other aromatic ingredients. Lys Frugtkage has a golden brown colour and is usually garnished with candied fruits.
