Midye dolma (Stuffed Mussles)

Midye dolma, meaning stuffed mussels in English, is a common street food that is hugely popular throughout Turkey. The preparation of this dish is quite simple – peeled from the inside mussels are filled with a special mass and then boiled till cooked. Filling is usually made of mixing long grain rice, pie nuts, raisins, onions, sugar, dried mint, and black pepper. Midye dolma is being consumed in the following way: open the top shell, squeeze a bit of lemon and spoon it out with the shell.
