Munich Helles was first made in Munich in 1928 and since then, it become the regular drink of the locals; it is sold in all pubs and is commonly home-brewed by most beer lovers and connoisseurs. It has a golden-yellow color, being considered to be a blonde beer, and combines the aromas and tastes of hops and well balanced maltiness, which is just apparent. This beer has some similarities with Bohemian Pilsener, however, it is a bit darker of color, has a light body and a high carbonation. Munich Helles is the beer for all occasions, as it is good in any season of the year and is greatly loved by the Munchens, who turned into a custom the fact of drinking such a beer practically every day.
