Paasbrood or Paasstol is a traditional sweet Easter bun from the Netherlands. This Dutch sweet treat is filled with a sweet almond paste in the center and decorated with golden raisins and candied lemon peel. Other ingredients are whole milk, dry active yeast, sugar, flour, cardamom, eggs, butter. Preparation of this dish consists of making dough and almond paste. When ready, dough is formed in an oval shape and filled with the almond paste. It is baked until loaf is golden brown. Paasbrood is served at room temperature.
