Panaché is a kind of Shandy or Shandygaff drink, popular especially in the French cantons of Switzerland and is normally a beer mixed with citrus-flavored soda, carbonated lemonade, ginger beer, ginger ale, or cider. The proportions of the two ingredients are adjusted to taste, normally half-and-half; there are also non-alcoholic mixes, the favorites of the teenagers. The Swiss Panaché is basically made from beer and lemonade, although, some recipes state that the drink could be made with fruity puree, which is not so common. It is usually served in tall glasses, such as beer glasses or pints and ice-cold, as a perfect refreshing drink (quite strong), for a hot summer day.
