Peksimeti is a very popular appetizer in Sarajevo. The main ingredients of this dish are flour, yoghurt, eggs, dried yeast, water, salt, and oil for frying. All these ingredients are mixed together in order to get a mixture, which is not too hard and too soft. The mix is cut in small pieces, molded in round or oval shapes, which are oil fried until they expand and acquire a tasty gold color to them. The main secret of preparing perfect peksimeti is this: after frying, make sure to put them on a parchment paper so it absorbs the surface oil and leaves the peksimeti dry and appetizing.
