Prežganka ("browned" soup with eggs) is a Slovenian national soup made of flour, caraway seeds and beaten eggs with an addition of spices. The brown color comes from browning the flour in oil. Prežganka is a traditional dish from Upper Carniola region. Prežganka is a light soup that eases digestion and calms the stomach, so it is considered comfort food in Slovenia. It is known all over Slovenia and is very easily prepared. Prežganka was once one of the most common soups on Slovenian tables, especially for the not too rich population.
