Revani or ravani and revani is a delicious sweet cake, very popular in Tirane. It is made of a semolina or farina soaked in syrup.

The sweet syrup is prepared from orange flower water or rose water, sugar, orange peel and cinnamon. Coconut is also a popular addition.

The cake is usually cut into square pieces, each piece being garnished with almonds and powdered sugar.

In the Middle Eastern cuisine, Revani is known as Basbousa or Hareesa. This dish may also be found in the cuisines of the Eastern Mediterranean countries, where it represents a very popular dessert.
