Rolling Donkey is a cake made of rice-flour and red bean paste with a touch of soybean flour on the outside so it has a yellow look. It is a famous snack in Beijing with an Islamic origin. The name Rolling Donkey comes from the way the rice dumplings are rolled in the fried soybean flour when making the cake. It is not uncommon for a Chinese dish to have a fanciful name. Rolling Donkey tastes sweet and sticky.
