Salt potatoes (potatoes boiled in salted water) is a popular dish all over the world. The dish belongs to the traditional side dishes of the German cuisine. The potatoes are peeled, then depending on size, halved or quartered and placed in cold salted water, boiled for about 20 minutes in lightly boiling water. The water is poured off and the potatoes are pivoted in butter. Potatoes obtain a beautiful bright golden colour and an appetizing flavour. In restaurants and cafes they are often flavored with herbs such as parsley or dill before served.
