Schnitzel Wiener Art or Viennese Schnitzel is a characteristic dish for the German cuisine. It represents the popular pork version of the Schnitzel, which is actually made of veal and coated in breadcrumbs.

The main ingredients of the German schnitzel are pork, eggs, flour and butter. Spices as salt, pepper and thyme are added in order to intensify the taste.

When made of prime quality meat, a Schnitzel is mostly served plain, perhaps with some salt and a slice of lemon or different sauces. It may also be served with such fruit garnish as cranberry or currants.
