Sheqerpare
From Mycitycuisine.org
Sheqerpare represent traditional Albanian cookies in syrup. This dish has its roots in the Turkish cuisine.
Sheqerpare are prepared from butter, egg yolks, flour and baking soda. When the cookies are ready, syrup is poured over them, this being prepared from water, sugar and vanilla extract or lemon juice.
Sheqerpare are very delicious, and after they absorb all the syrup they become literally mouthwatering.
In Turkey, Sheqerpare are called Sekerpare (meaning "sugar bit"). The only difference between them is that in Sekerpare there is a hazelnut placed in the middle of each cookie.
