Turkish Halva is considered one of the best in the world and it is really worth tasting. There are several kinds of halva produced in Turkey. Tahin Helvası is a Nut-butter-based halva popular all over the country. This type of halva is crumbly and usually made from Tahini (sesame paste) or other nut butters, such as sunflower seed butter. The primary ingredients are nut-butter and sugar. The other ingredients used for Tahin Helvası preparation are egg whites, whole or halves pistachio nuts, soapwort. Sometimes sugar is substituted with honey. Its production process is quite difficult and time consuming. Tahin Helvası is usually eaten like a nougat with tea of coffee, and used for other desserts preparation.
