The Tochitura Moldoveneasca (Moldavian Stew) is a traditional Romanian / Moldovan dish; it is one of the heaviest, but also one of the tastiest dishes Romanians can be proud of calling their own. Its popularity is proven by the multitude of versions all around Romania: Moldavian stew, Transylvanian stew, Dobrogean stew, etc.
If you are a meat lover, then you will love the taste of fried pork, smoked sausages and bacon quenched with white wine. It is served with Mămăligă, Brânză de burduf and a "Romanian style" fried egg. The chopped garlic gives the stew a special flavor, that can only raise your appetite, while the slightly spiced taste from the minced pepper makes you warm up quickly. This stew is the perfect choice on a very cold winter day. It goes just perfectly with a glass of red wine.
